For months there has been talks of a change coming to Clique Vodka. The change was inevitable and although it was a tough decision, it was one that needed to be made. This is the change. Welcome to the new Clique Vodka - The New Black.

Over the past few months, the shelves have been clearing of the old Clique Vodka bottles in preparation for the release of these new bottles. Clique Vodka has upgraded and is here to change everything! Yes, the new bottles are black. No, the vodka is NOT black. In fact, Clique Vodka won multiple awards including 2 gold medals in 2012 so there is no way the vodka is changing. It’s simply too good.

If you stop by the Facebook or Twitter page you will notice all updated imagery. Again, everything is changing!

A few weeks ago, I was perusing the local fruit stand when I came across a peculiar little fruit I had never seen before.  It was shaped like a tiny purplish green pear, but had soft flesh like a peach. Being the adventurous eater that I am, I bought one, took a bite and was immediately blown away. Could this really be the same fruit that that has been hidden away inside my Newton cookies all these years?  It tasted so different!  With a distinct sweetness inside, reminiscent of honey, I immediately started brainstorming how to get it into my glass, and after a few minutes of experimenting, the “Fig-ticious” was born!

 
Start by removing the stem from a fresh fig, and dropping it into a cocktail tin with 4 or 5 ripe blackberries.  Add 1 ¼ oz Clique Vodka and muddle, by pressing repeatedly with a cocktail muddler to quickly infuse the fruit flavors into the vodka while turning the fruit into a pulp. Add a scoop of ice, ¼ oz simple syrup (1 part sugar dissolved in 1 part hot water), and 2 oz cranberry juice.  Shake well to chill, and strain into a rocks glass. I highly recommend that you pick up a couple of these mysterious little fruits before the season is over, and don’t forget to tag your Instagram pics with #Cliqueshots so the rest of the world can see how delicious fresh figs really are!

As of today, there is a 14 day BlackOut rolling out across all of Clique Vodka’s networks. Why is this BlackOut happening you may ask….. In 14 days you will find out. As previously posted, changes are coming and the current product you have been seeing for the past couple years will be gone forever. If you are fortunate enough to have visited a store that still has product, get it, because after the BlackOut you will never see those bottles again!

It’s officially November, and while most of you are thinking about Thanksgiving and turkeys, I’m celebrating National Peanut Butter Lovers Month with a tasty cocktail that is my liquid re-incarnation of my favorite peanut butter candies.  I’m sure you have all the ingredients lying around the house already, and it makes for a dynamite dessert cocktail, so let’s get to whipping up some “Buttercups!”



Setup your cocktail glass by pouring ½ oz of chocolate syrup directly into the bottom and set aside. In a cocktail tin without ice, stir 1 spoonful of creamy peanut butter and 2 oz of Clique Vodka, until they blend together into a thick liquid. Add ice and ½ oz of milk, and shake again until very cold, then strain into the cocktail glass. I prefer to keep the chocolate separate from the actual cocktail so they blend together as I sip it, but if you like a more consistent ratio, you can always shake it in with the rest of the cocktail.

However you do it, take a photo with Instagram and tag #CliqueShots so everyone else can see your finished masterpiece!

I don’t have to tell you that Halloween is right around the corner, and for me that means one thing- candy, candy and cheap candy! I love walking through the candy aisle looking for new cocktail inspirations: different things I can melt down, make into syrups, use as funky garnishes, and of course things I can put on a cocktail rim to add a boost of sugar!  The cocktail for this week uses one of my all-time favorite childhood candies, and make for a dazzling martini that you can whip up in a variety of different flavors, but of course, we’re going pink with this one- it’s time for “Pixie Tricks!”
 

Cut a lime in half, and rub the juicy segments around the outer edge of a cocktail glass before rotating through a pixie stick emptied onto a saucer.  Empty 3 more pixie sticks into an empty cocktail tin and add 2 oz of Clique Vodka. Shake -without ice, to dissolve the pixie sticks into the vodka first, and then add ice, along with the juice of half a lime and ¾ oz cranberry juice. Shake very well, and strain the martini into your prepared cocktail glass, being careful not to let it drip on the rim. This recipe will result in a tart cocktail, but if you like yours on the sweeter side, use less fresh lime juice, or add more pixie sticks.
