One thing that Joshua Leonard James Himes always had growing up was that star potential ability as an athlete. He was blessed with the natural talent most athletes strive for their entire lives. Whether it was in basketball, baseball, or football Josh was the go to guy and made winning effortless. It could have been very easy to get caught up in the glory and attention from his small town success in Monaca, Pennsylvania, Josh’s sheer modesty and strong family values has shaped him into the person he is today.

Josh was born August 4, 1989. As a child, he was always eager to learn new things and absorbed information quickly, almost too quickly. Although his high level of energy and excitable personality became easily exhausting at times, through is growth and development Josh was able to channel this adolescent energy as motivation to achieve his greatest desire; boxing. Boxing took something that could have become a large negative into something positive! Like most teenage boys, Josh found himself getting in fights often. His high level energy sometimes became a disadvantage in situations like these. Luckily, Josh came to realize he could turn this energy into something positive by choosing a professional career path that allows him to exert all his abilities into the sport of boxing. In a short period of time, Josh is said to be the future of boxing and, one of the most exciting fighters in the ring.

Being 6’2, 200 pounds, Josh was the fastest to reach a state title in only one year time in the open division. No other boxer has ever been able to do that. He has gone on to three national tournaments, placing in all, one in being the Olympic trial tournament. In the mix of these tournaments, Josh was named outstanding fighter of the night, an athlete of the tournament. He has received numerous awards including medals, plaques, and trophies and is now ranked 5th in the nation of Amateur Boxing.

He has accomplished over 25 fights in only one year and a half. The experience Josh lacks is made up by his outstanding skills in power and speed. After many fights he needed a boxers name he became known in boxing as “The Handsome Hitman.”

Josh is thrilled to represent his hometown and wants nothing more but to inspire and encourage the minds of young adolescents that they can do anything they put their mind to. The one thing that separates Josh from others in his profession is that he is always leaving room for growth whether it be in boxing or life in general. His will power and ability to continue learning each and every day gives Josh the drive to succeed in anything he takes on in his life.
